The concerts at Nissan Stadium were not the only place to catch performances by many of today's hottest artists. From Fan club parties to special concerts and other events, there was plenty to keep everyone busy. Live music could also be found at The Chevy Riverfront, multiple stages inside the all new FFX Fan Fair hall, The Park stage, the Hard Rock Café , the all new Ascend Amphitheatre, The Music City Stage (inside the Visitor's Center) and at clubs all up and down Broadway. There was non-stop music from early in the morning until well into the night.
There were multiple stages set up inside Fan Fair Hall (FFX). One of favorites is the Durango stage. On Thursday, we were able to catch up with a long time favorite in Shenandoah. We were able to enjoy the music of other classic country music acts as we wandered around the expansive hall.

During the week of CMA Fest, many of the artists host parties for their fan club members. We identified at least 50 such parties that occurred thru-out the week. We were only able to make Charlie Worsham's Donuts and Jam.

Around Town
In addition to the standard CMA Sanctioned events, you can find things going on all around town the entire week. Some of these are free and others required an additional fee (not included in a standard CMA Festival ticket). From events like the Grand Ole Opry, to concerts at the Wildhorse Saloon, and songwriter sessions at the Country Music Hall of Fame, there is something for everyone.

Darius Rucker & Friends
Monday, June 6, 2016
Darius Rucker always has an outstanding line-up for his annual Darius Rucker & Friends benefit concert.
Joining Rucker onstage in 2016 were Terri Clark, Hunter Hayes, LoCash, Scotty McCreery, Charley Pride, and Drake White. The annual event was held on June 6, at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon. Rucker’s benefit concert, along with a silent auction and golf tournament, raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Throughout the years, more than $700,000 has been raised, with more than $220,000 raised in 2015 alone. |
The Grand Ole Opry
Tuesday, June 7, 2016
A performance at the Grand Ole Opry is always special, but during CMA Fest week the stars come out to shine.
We attended the 7:00 p.m. show on Tuesday June 7, 2016 that featured Bill Anderson, Charles "Deacon" Esten, Chris Janson, Darius Rucker, Little Big Town (with a special appearance by Pharrell Williams) and Carrie Underwood. Think next time we will look for seats a little further back with a better angle. |
Marty Stuart's Late Night Jam
Wednesday, June 8, 2016
Each year, CMA festival-goers pack into Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium for Marty Stuart’s annual Late Night Jam. The event, which usually runs into the early morning hours, attracts some of the genre’s biggest and fastest-rising stars.
for 2016, Stuart recruited hit makers Maren Morris and Brothers Osborne for the June 8 concert. Dan Auerbach of rock band the Black Keys also joined in on the festivities, along with Chuck Mead and the Grassy Knoll Boys, Steve Riley and Doug Kershaw, Williams and Ree, JD McPherson and The Isaacs and bonus appearance by Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler. |
Country Music Hall of Fame
During the CMA Country Music Festival, the Country Music Hall of Fame offered a number of chances to Meet & Greet with several country artists.
In addition to the Meet and Greet opportunities, there were a number of Songwriter Sessions offered. We were lucky enough to attend a Q&A Session with Blake Shelton who has a new exhibit in the CMHOF and a Songwriter Session with my personal favorite Gary Allan. |
