Broadway Bars

Music can be found around every corner in Downtown Nashville and beyond. Music of every genre can be heard in and around "Music City USA". You never know where the next "superstar" will emerge. Who knows? With all these "celebrity" bars/restaurants popping up, you could just run into your favorite singer.

Keep in mind, that there are age restrictions on many of the bars around the city. I found a great article by Nashville Guru that addresses this issue. MORE INFO

Legends Corner is Nashville’s classic dive bar experience that provides great country music!

Nashville is obviously home to some of the best country music bars. With country music stars holding their roots in Nashville, this city has the absolute best live talent you can enjoy. This city lives and breathes great country music! It is counted as one of the best Nashville Bars.

Legends Corner is just a couple of feet from the front door of the new 5th and Broadway complex. There’s a good possibility it will be your first stop on a visit through Lower Broadway's honky tonks. The atmosphere is top-notch with several of classic country album covers and memorabilia adorning the walls, including five unique 78 RPM Elvis Presley Sun Records and a 12-string signed guitar once possessed by Johnny Cash. Keep your eyes open for genuine legends on the bar stool close to you.

This honky tonk is one of the best Nashville bars known for live country music. The décor is somewhat dive-y, but its main genre would be honky-tonk, and dancing is strongly encouraged.

Legends Corner has been home to many up-and-coming country music artists. Nashville’s Legendary Legends Corner is Broadway’s premier bar for live music!

Tootsies Orchid Lounge

422 Broadway
Nashville, TN

In the land of a thousand Honky Tonks, Tootsie's remains Nashville's go-to destination for locals and visitors alike. Tootsie's has more music history per square inch than anywhere else in Music City.

'Mom's' was the original name of Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, Tootsie Bess bought Mom's in 1960. She credits a painter with naming Tootsie's. She came in one day to find that he had painted her place orchid...thus the name Tootsie's Orchid Lounge.

Famous early customers were Kris Kristofferson, Faron Young, Willie Nelson, Tom T. Hall, Hank Cochran, Mel Tillis, Roger Miller, Webb Pierce, Waylon Jennings, Patsy Cline and many more. Performers at the Opry would sometimes sneak out the side door and grab a drink at Tootsie’s between sets.

In 1992, local businessman Steve Smith reinvested in Tootsies and is credited for part of the revitalization of downtown Nashville. Today, Tootsies is an international destination visited by locals and tourists alike. Tootsie’s is known for having the best local musicians and as a haven for some the world’s most popular acts. You truly never know who you may see on one of Tootsie’s three stages or hanging out on the rooftop patio.
